Susan Wakarura Kihika is only aged 40,and with a slight frame and quite jovial most of the times but if you ask the residents of Nakuru County what crosses their minds at the mention of her name,the answer you will get is simple:her stern leadership.
Her Story sounds like a fairytale.Susan,a mother of two,floored 12 Men to become the Nakuru County Assembly Speaker,making her one of the three females holding such a position in our Country.
Susan Kihika,after delivering her work with near-perfection has now joined the race for the senatorial seat to oust the incumbent Mungai who is accused by the electorates of relocating to Nairobi after clinching the seat.
The Speaker made known,her decision to vie for the seat in the Presence of Gov.Kinuthia Mbugua when the Governor was in the Assembly for the Annual Address.
Susan Kihika,nicknamed the 'Iron lady' immediately received massive support from Residents and leaders.These leaders included elected MCAs and MPs among them the MP for Nakuru West Constituency who declared his support to her.
It wasn't by Chance,Susan Kihika led the house to reject six nominees to the Executive Committee fronted by the Governor insisting their nomination was flawed thus becoming a darling to the electorates.
Susan Kihika has been Criss-crossing the vast county presiding over fundraising and using various platforms to partake some tactful campaigns for the seat.She is a favorite of the Jubilee top leadership and has often been present during VP William Rutos functions in the county,engaging in conversations.The other contenders including Madaraka Mwithaga and Karanja Kabage are already thinking of Changing their minds.
The Senatorial Seat,apparently is hers to lose,And Come 2018 Nakuru County might welcome its second Senator- Susan Wakarura Kihika.
