This is where John Mututho took his first bottle of beer

By Moses K.
One day in 1980s, a young man walked from his home to a local centre.Wanting to fit in into the typical definition of a man, his boyish genes led him to a local bar.
The centre is called Turi, in Molo constituency.
The centre neighbors the prestigious St Andrews Turi where one year fee can buy you a mansion in Nairobi's poshest suburb.
The sleepy centre, with all the characteristics of a village, is where John Njenga Mututho tasted his first bottle of beer in a legendary bar that was known as Kagema.
It's not clear whether Kagema was a corruption of Mgema - the swahili for a brewer.Mututho's home is a few metres from this centre.
His father was among the who-is-who and the evidence of that is clear as he had put up a 'stone' house in days when everybody else had a mud-walled house.
They also lived in Turi's 'leafy' suburb of Turi Farmers - this was an area reserved for teachers and the 'rich'.Turi has two 'leafy' suburbs: Turi farmers and Valley farm.
Kagema bar is where Mututho started his hate for the bottle. After he became a true man, he declared his war against the bottle.
He has since made his name through such legislation as the Mututho law.
Today, Mututho runs JOMEC rehabilitation centre where the drug and alcohol addicts are helped to overcome their addiction.
The institution has helped many civil servants who were at the itch of loosing their jobs due to addiction;thank to JOMEC which offers free treatment to them with NHIF cards

The new Alcoholic Drinks Control Law in Kiambu county must be observed so as to bring sanity in the county.
It is not going there be a business as usual for those in the liquor business.

Their only goal is to make money from Kiambu people and leave them for dead.

*Look at the pictures of Kiambu youth whom  have been made zombies and useless human beings*

Enough is enough!

Transport CS Macharia on the receiving end over Kenya Ports Authority Reshuffles

The recent reshuffles at Kenya Ports Authority have raised  questions on  the credibility of transport CS Macharia.

Among the questions raised is which criteria did the CS use to do the reshuffle? Was it academic or experience?
In parastatals, General managers and Human resource managers are mandated to do such reshuffles ie promoting, demoting and Transfer's, so it was out of self interest that Macharia took charge of the reshuffle process without consultation.

Macharia should come clean and explain the reason as to why he elevated Rashid Salim a junior person to a position General Manager Engineering Services who doesn't meet the requirements since he is not a qualified engineer to start with leaving his seniors who are qualified engineers in the same position. He is a diploma holder and and a qualified graduate engineer must be a degree holder, could he have presented fake documents? Or the CS is aware of this and he elevated him so as to serve some interest??

If it was on merit, can Rashid Salim produce a valid practice license?

"Promoting unqualified junior leaving their seniors is such a demoralizing act, a staff at the ports who claimed anonymity lamented.
.

We understand the CS did this in favour of his cartels at the port, since this cartels he has elevated are the biggest suppliers.

Parastatal jobs are advertised and position filled competitively, what was the essence of advertising the position of GM engineering Services in local dailies while CS was to reward his own cronies??

Last year Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia was on the spot for alleged corruption cover up involving Sh442,000 by the director of Aircraft Accident Investigation Department (AAID) Captain Martyne Lunani at a time the government was grappling to fight the vice.

CS Macharia should be impeached as soon as possible before he mess up the transport sector.

Mututho rehab centre in Nakuru ranked top in Africa, to be used as model

A drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation center in Nakuru has been rated as Africa’s biggest rehab center and will be used as a benchmark facility by other African nations interested in adapting the treatment model used at the Nakuru based Rehab. The John Mututho Empowerment Center located at Nakuru’s Mwariki estate is famed for its unique method of treating drug addicts in a record 21-42 days as opposed to three months common with other rehab centers.

Addressing the media on Sunday at the center, Mr Mututho, who is the former NACADA boss, said the center had attracted world attention because of its wholesome treatment which includes interception, nutrition and psychotherapy something he said leaves the addict sober and sound.
The rehab center has so far treated senior ranking officials including bankers, police and prison officers, magistrates, lawyers and even athletes. Zambia health minister, officials from Canada, South Africa and drug manufactures from India toured the facility last year in March to benchmark with the facility.

The modern rehab center has leisure facilities like Jacuzzis, swimming pools, gyms, saunas among others. The rehab is also putting up a level four hospital which will have the capacity to handle patients with mental issues.

Understanding Addiction

understanding addiction...

-No one chooses to become an addict
-No one chooses to lose everything they have because they value their drug more
-Drugs can alter the brain's chemicals and trick it into thinking that the drug is necessary for survival, the brain only starts to heal through time in rehab and further treatment is needed to help retrain the brain from being dependent on drugs
-Addiction is treatable
-Treatment is best when the individual says they need it (rather than force it)
-It takes compassion to reach out and help addicts know that treatment is available, that they are not a failure
-"Addiction is Not a choice. This is a disease.

Welcome to JOMEC for treatment of all sought of addiction.
