Understanding Addiction

understanding addiction...

-No one chooses to become an addict
-No one chooses to lose everything they have because they value their drug more
-Drugs can alter the brain's chemicals and trick it into thinking that the drug is necessary for survival, the brain only starts to heal through time in rehab and further treatment is needed to help retrain the brain from being dependent on drugs
-Addiction is treatable
-Treatment is best when the individual says they need it (rather than force it)
-It takes compassion to reach out and help addicts know that treatment is available, that they are not a failure
-"Addiction is Not a choice. This is a disease.

  1. If everyone understood the importance of staying sober the way Hon. J. Mututho does then we would have a sober and development conscious society. Keep up the great job Hon. Mututho
