Mututho rehab centre in Nakuru ranked top in Africa, to be used as model

A drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation center in Nakuru has been rated as Africa’s biggest rehab center and will be used as a benchmark facility by other African nations interested in adapting the treatment model used at the Nakuru based Rehab. The John Mututho Empowerment Center located at Nakuru’s Mwariki estate is famed for its unique method of treating drug addicts in a record 21-42 days as opposed to three months common with other rehab centers.

Addressing the media on Sunday at the center, Mr Mututho, who is the former NACADA boss, said the center had attracted world attention because of its wholesome treatment which includes interception, nutrition and psychotherapy something he said leaves the addict sober and sound.
The rehab center has so far treated senior ranking officials including bankers, police and prison officers, magistrates, lawyers and even athletes. Zambia health minister, officials from Canada, South Africa and drug manufactures from India toured the facility last year in March to benchmark with the facility.

The modern rehab center has leisure facilities like Jacuzzis, swimming pools, gyms, saunas among others. The rehab is also putting up a level four hospital which will have the capacity to handle patients with mental issues.
