A security expert has advised Cord supporters against provoking the police during their anti–IEBC protests every Monday.
David Karuri who served in the US military said provocation of the by some Cord supporters was contributing to the force the police force is using against them.
Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru West constituency, Karuri also advised the police to diplomatically handle the supporters during protests instead of using undue force that he said was unlawful and regretful.
“As much as everyone has the right to protest but at the same time we should not get to a pint of provoking the police ad triggering them to apply excessive force,” said Karuri.
“At the same time our police must desist from using excessive force and learn how they can deal with protesters without hurting anyone,” he added.
Karuri warned that continued protests may lead to arise in political temperatures and tensions in the country ahead of the 2017 polls and called for dialogue among between different parties to find and bring an amicable solution to the IEBC stalemate.
Karuri has since declared his interest in the Nakuru West parliamentary seat.
