NAKURU GOVERNOR KINUTHIA MBUGUA HAS ADMITTED HE WAS HECKLED YESTERDAY. HE HAS SLAMMED AT HIS OPPONENTS FOR WHAT HE TERMED IS POOR POLITICS OF HIRING GOONS TO INTERFERE WITH THE VISIT BY HECKLING LEADERS.
ADDRESSING BUSINESS PEOPLE ON FRIDAY WHEN HE OFFICIALLY OPENED THE MASHAMBANI BUS TERMINUS WHICH WAS UNDER RENOVATION, GOVERNOR MBUGUA SLAMMED AT HIS OPPONENTS FOR HIRING GOONS WHO TRIED TO HECKLE HIM DURING THE THURSDAY DP’S TOUR TO NAKURU.
MBUGUA SAID HE HAD RECEIVED INFORMATION OF HIS OPPONENTS IN THE GUBERNATORIAL SEAT PLANS TO MESS UP THE WHOLE VISIT BUT THEY (OPPONENTS) DID NOT SUCCEED.
“I HAVE MANY ENEMIES AND EVEN YESTERDAY THEY TRIED TO PLAN TO INTERFERE WITH THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT’S TOUR TO NAKURU BUT I HAD INFORMATION THAT THEY HAD BEEN PAID” SAID MBUGUA.
MBUGUA ALSO TOOK AN ISSUE WITH THE MEDIA FOR MISREPORTING ON THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT’S VISIT TO NAKURU ON THURSDAY.
MEDIA IN NAKURU REPORTED THAT THE GOVERNOR WAS HECKLED BEFORE THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT AN ISSUE THAT DID NOT GO WELL WITH MBUGUA.
“THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT WAS HERE ALL THE WAY FROM KIPTAGICH TO NAKURU TOWN, THERE WAS NO CONFRONTATION YET THE MEDIA IS WRITING SOME INFORMATION THAT IS NOT TRUE. WE KNOW WE HAVE ENEMIES BUT THEY CANNOT BE MORE THAN THE FRIENDS WE HAVE” HE SAID.
HIS SENTIMENTS WERE ECHOED BY BIASHARA WARD MCA STEPHEN KURIA WHO URGED RESIDENTS OF NAKURU TO SHUN LEADERS WHO ARE OUT TO DIVIDE THEM ON POLITICAL LINES.
THE OPENING CEREMONY OF MASHAMBANI BUS TERMINUS WHICH HAS UNDERGONE RENOVATION AT A COST OF 12.5 MILLION SHILLINGS WAS ALSO ATTENDED BY NAKURU CEC FOR ROADS ENGINEER JOEL KAIRU AND NOMINATED MCA ROSEMARY KAMAU.
